The Castle

Once you have learned to fly, you will walk on the ground looking at the sky because it's there you have been and it’s there that you want to come back. "Thus writes Leonardo da Vinci, an undisputed genius of the sixteenth century that here at Castello Visconteo di Cassano adds one of its most intense creative seasons, Living in the Tower and doing some of his studies on bird flying.

Place of fun and of festivals, the castle was wanted by Ottone Visconti, Archbishop of Milan from 1261 to 1295. Military Presidium, the provisional residence of the Signoria, seat of representation, court and even prison, was equipped with an imposing wall, which still today characterizes the fortress so clearly.

Between the walls of the Castle lived famous illustrious characters and gentle ladies, to which today are titled the precious suites and the great Frescoed rooms: from Francesco to Bianca Maria Sforza, from Gian Galeazzo Visconti to Ludovico il Moro. Charming personalities that today remain the charm and the pure beauty of a fabulous home!
